COMFORTABLE AND POWERFUL: THE GIVENCHY WOMAN SS26

Sarah Burton

Givenchy is in a moment of transition, seeking to reclaim its renown within an increasingly innovative fashion industry. With its eyes on repositioning, the maison appointed Sarah Burton to lead—while also allowing her to shape an identity outside the house that first established her in the industry. From this independence emerges the new Spring/Summer 2026 Womenswear collection: a definitive consolidation of her artistic vision.

Since her beginnings at Givenchy, Sarah Burton has prioritized female power, and through her designs she seeks to inject strength into this movement with an homage to the woman who wakes every morning—creating a new kind of noise that amplifies femininity without resorting to fashion clichés.

In this presentation, the mastery of silhouette manipulation and body reconfiguration continues to serve as the axis of design. The goal has always been to dignify the female body, making it feel at ease, as if it were in the intimacy of its own room.

How does this idea of comfort translate on the runway? With pockets, hourglass silhouettes not overly cinched, flattering necklines, and a play between volume and transparency. The models are draped in the most exquisite sheets—very much in Givenchy’s style—and step out ready to embody the concept of a powerful, leading woman.
